Job Description
Responsibilities may be quite diverse of an exempt technical nature. U.S. experience and education requirements will vary significantly depending on the unique needs of the job. Job assignments are usually for the summer or for short periods during breaks
from school. Specific responsibilities for this position include: Responsible for applying Human Factors Engineering techniques and principles at all phases of product/technology development, including: End-user profiling & application of market research Requirements gathering & definition Product concept formation and qualification Rapid, iterative user interface design, simulation, evaluation. Usability planning, delivery, tracking and closure for hardware, software, and web projects. Formal evaluation and experimental methods for field and lab (design, collection, analysis, delivery) HFEs at Intel act as design-team members, lead UI evaluation efforts, partner effectively with other HFE groups and labs, and work closely with the Ease of Use community at Intel. Qualities: Highly self motivated, able to prioritize and focus on critical tasks (cut interesting chaff). Independent, but take direction & input very well.
Desired Profile
Has excellent user interface design skills & have proven themselves to be creative problem solvers. Excellent verbal and written communications abilities augmented with strong presentation skills. Consensus builders that can flexibly articulate the value of user-centered design in a fast-moving, highly competitive environment.
Qualifications
You need to be pursuing a Master's or Ph.D. degree in a Human Factors related discipline. Previous work experience and/or internships, preferably in the software industry, are desired. Typical majors include: Human Computer Interaction, Industrial Design, Visual Communications, Social Computing, Software Ergonomics, Cognitive Science, Human Factors Engineering, Applied Psychology] and Industrial Engineering, with emphasis on above. Additional qualifications include:
- Highly self motivated, able to prioritize and focus on critical tasks. Independent, but take direction and input very well
- Team player
- Creative problem solver
- Excellent verbal and written communications abilities augmented with strong presentation skills
- Consensus builders that can flexibly articulate the value of user-centered design in a fast-moving, highly competitive environment
- Experience with user interface design and usability testing and information architecture
-Well conversant with prototyping tools like Photoshop, Visio, Balsamiq, etc.
-Ability to create hi-fidelity and low-fidelity prototypes
- Demonstrated ability to influence and solid understanding of applying human factors in business applications would be an added advantage.
In particular for this position we are looking for an individual who has experience/knowledge in planning/setting up/conducting usability tests and surveys.
